Vancouver, BC, March 1, 2013-Allnorth wins Silver at the 2012 International Awards for Liveable Communities conference held in the United Arab Emirates.
The Village of Telkwa’s “Resiliency Plan,” was short-listed out of 400 applications to be invited to the sustainable communities’ competition. The Resiliency Plan, a new hybrid planning document, won silver out of 28 international projects in the Socio-Economic category, at the United Nation’s endorsed International Awards for Liveable Communities (LivCom). This global competition recognizes international best practices for sustainability.
Allnorth’s award-winning planning team led by Felice Mazzoni, in collaboration with the Village of Telkwa, created British Columbia’s first “Resiliency Plan”, which includes an Integrated Community Sustainability Plan, Official Community Plan, Zoning Bylaw and Affordable Housing Needs Assessment and Action Plan.
“Working with the Allnorth planning team to develop these four policy documents has been a unique and rewarding experience. The team led the municipality through a grass-roots community engagement process creating a long term planning framework that will guide current and future councils and staff.”
– Kim Martinsen – Chief Administrative Officer, Telkwa.
