United Way Day of Caring, Presented by Home Hardware Kamloops – Allnorth Cleans up at Boys and Girls Club
Posted on 11.09.2018
On August 22, 2018, volunteers from the Allnorth Kamloops office participated in their first United Way’s Day of Caring. More than 15 volunteers cleaned up two of the local Boys and Girls Club, Brocklehurst Neighbourhood Club and John Tod Centre. The team removed old furniture from the clubs, to make space for newly donated furniture, and prepare for renovations. They also built a deck railing for the John Tod Centre’s deck in the outdoor play area.
The Boys and Girls Club aims to provide safe, supportive places for children to experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life. The Boys and Girls Club of Kamloops offer many programs for children, youth and families like Friday Family Night, after-school drop-ins, children’s recreation and development programs, full-time day care services, part-time French preschool for children, spring and summer break camps, Youth Against Youth homelessness group and so many more programs, including 22 no-cost programs.
