IDM Mining Ltd. (IDM) is focused on exploring and developing the high-grade Red Mountain Gold Project, located in the famous Golden Triangle of Northwestern BC, 15 kilometres east of the port community of Stewart.

Allnorth was retained to provide a New Plant Energy Efficiency Study to review and assess opportunities for improvements in energy consumption on the Red Mountain Gold Project. The objective was to identify energy savings in excess of approximately 300,000 kWh/year and develop an AACE Class 5, Order of Magnitude, Capital Cost Estimate for the proposed energy savings modifications.

IDM and Allnorth held a brainstorming session to identify potential energy conservation measure (ECM) opportunities.

A detailed analysis was carried out on the following ECMs:

  • Improve Ball Mill Efficiency;
  • Primary Mill Classification Optimization;
  • Process Plant Optimization.

Allnorth successfully completed the project and exceeded the energy-saving study target.
