Operating in North Vancouver for the last 50 years, Neptune Terminals has long played an integral role in Canada’s economy. The terminal currently handles Canadian potash and steelmaking coal for export to global markets in Asia, South America and Europe, while also importing phosphate rock for fertilizer production in Alberta. Located on Vancouver’s North Shore, just west of the Iron Workers’ Memorial Bridge and part of the Port of Vancouver, Neptune Terminals is one of the largest multi-product bulk terminals in North America. In addition to contributing significantly to the prosperity of Western Canada, the company is an important part of the local economy, supporting small business through its purchasing, and partnering with many non-profit organizations and events to make the North Shore a healthy, vibrant community for all who live and work there.
Thanks to Allnorth’s extensive proven expertise in structural engineering and our established safety culture, our team was engaged by Neptune Terminals in 2018 to deliver engineering services on a wide variety of operations and maintenance projects at the North Vancouver terminal. The team’s scope of work to date has included structural repairs to existing assets such as ship loaders and transfer towers, including services ranging from field inspection, to tendering and construction management, and carrying through safety upgrades to continually enhance the site’s safety.
Neptune Terminals and Allnorth’s shared long-term objective is to increase efficiency in repair and maintenance programs throughout the entire process, resulting in substantial savings in time and operational costs for the facility.
