After successfully having completed their innovative Florida Hosford OSB plant project in 2017, (see news release Thursday June 14, 2018, allnorth.com) which resulted in significant operating cost savings, Georgia-Pacific (GP) engaged Allnorth Consultants Limited (Allnorth) to carry out P3 capital cost estimates for additional systems at five (5) other OSB facilities, including Fordyce – Arkansas, Allendale and Clarendon – South Carolina, Englehart – Ontario, and Brookneal – Virginia.
During the P3 phase, process design criteria were developed for each facility to determine equipment capacity requirements. Preliminary Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) were produced to identify tie-ins to existing mill systems, develop scope, and define equipment sizes.
Allnorth coordinated the ancillary equipment evaluation and selection for the systems and completed sufficient engineering data to complete the estimate and preliminary construction work packages prior to the onset of the detailed engineering phase.
