The existing Trans Mountain Pipeline (TMPL) system is approximately 1,147 km long commencing at a storage terminal in Edmonton, AB and ending at the Westridge Marine Terminal in Burnaby, BC. The original NPS 24 pipeline was built in 1953, and since that time three segments of the original pipeline have been looped: Edson, AB to Hinton, AB (89 km) with an NPS 30; Hinton, AB to Hargreaves, BC (151 km) with an NPS 36 and Darfield, BC to Kamloops, BC (81 km) with an NPS 30.

Trans Mountain Canada (Trans Mountain or TMC) engaged Allnorth and sub-consultant partner,  Global Raymac, to provide four-way sweeps of all underground features within the project construction footprint. The scope of work included all required updates to the Master Crossing List reflecting the findings from these four-way sweeps, updates to existing survey crossing drawings, and preparation of new crossing drawings as required based on the field data collected. In addition, our team provided survey support to the hydrovac contractor retained by Trans  Mountain to positively identify all buried utilities and subsurface infrastructure.

The scale of this project was significant, requiring a team with a combination  of pipeline survey expertise, experience on similar pipeline projects, and local/provincial survey knowledge,  as well  as  a strong Indigenous partnership with Peters  First  Nation.

Allnorth and Global Raymac provided TMC with a strong project team, with the capacity and experience to lead the project to successful completion, ahead of schedule, under budget, with zero safety incidents to the satisfaction of TMC and all stakeholders involved.
