The Romero Project is a resource development gold and copper mine wholly owned by GoldQuest Mining Corp. (GoldQuest). It is located in the Province of San Juan, Dominican Republic.

JDS Energy and Mining Inc. (JDS) was commissioned by GoldQuest to carry out a pre-feasibility study for the project. Subsequently, Allnorth was sub-contracted by JDS to perform concrete, structural steel, mechanical and electrical engineering and design at the process plant and portal areas for the capital cost estimate.

Allnorth’s scope of work included:

  • Crushing / conveyor and process plant layout and general arrangements suitable for pre-feasibility level piping and structural production of material take-offs;
  • Process plant and underground electrical design including sizing of electrical equipment, electrical load lists, emergency power requirements, power distribution, site-wide single line diagrams, electrical material take-offs and cost estimation;
  • Electrical write-ups for the final report.

The project was completed on time and below budget with the client expressing a high level of satisfaction with the value and quality of deliverables from the team.
