Allnorth was retained by Astaldi Canada to assist their project team on the Muskrat Falls Hydroelectric project in Goose Bay with engineering, environmental, surveying, safety, quality and contract related activities through the start-up of the construction of intake, powerhouse, spillway and transition dams and camp facilities.
The scope of work included topographical surveys, 3D scanning of the spillway, conceptual 3D modelling of access to temporary structures and crane paths, foundation design for temporary spillway structures, conceptual design for a temporary bridge and access roads to temporary structures, electrical design for temporary structures, design review of temporary Integrated Cover System, preliminary drainage design and settling ponds, development of a project specific environmental protection plan, permitting, batch plant water supply design, temporary camp facility design and various other components related to the start-up of this project
