The Abundant Life Church, located in southwest Calgary had a building condition survey conducted of their existing facility, built in 1977, to inform them for design decisions ahead of a feasibility study.
The Church was looking to erect a new building and pave a parking lot. Another objective was to sell a piece of the property, and as a condition of the property’s subdivision and sale, the Church needed a stormwater connection to the lane at the west of the property line.
The proposed addition was optimized to enhance the street frontage design treatment and offer more pedestrian-friendly edges at grade. This included the provision of a safer and more comfortable walking experience for users at the expansive surface parking area all around the church
The Church engaged Parker Seminoff Architects and members of the Allnorth team to complete this work, with Allnorth leading the civil engineering aspects of the project.
