The Afton copper-gold mine located near Kamloops BC is owned by New Gold, an intermediate gold mining company. In 2006 the access road to the pit was determined to be inadequate to accommodate the planned expansion of the mine due to stability issues.
Allnorth was hired to evaluate LiDAR and field geotechnical information, to determine an optimal route solution and to provide detailed design of the access route and runaway lanes to provincial mining code specifications.
