Allnorth’s role was to provide survey services, third party testing services and quality monitoring for concrete, grout, and earthworks as part of the HVMO Quality Control group onsite.
Survey: Allnorth provided complete site surveying services to facilitate project construction. This included all aspects of layout for excavations, underground utilities, site grading, quantity surveys and calculations, building and equipment foundations, building erection, pipelines, and miscellaneous layout requirements. Several survey crews and one civil technologist were committed full time to the project for approximately two years.
Materials Testing: Allnorth routinely took samples for concrete, testing for air entrainment for the batch plant and at the pour location. We advised the concrete crew if the concrete met the specifications outlined in the inspection and testing procedures, and how best to bring it into the range of specifications if it was deficient. We also performed regular quality monitoring of the pour locations for cementitious and epoxy grout, to ensure proper conditioning of both the materials, plus the substrate and forms. We took both lab and field cure samples for grout and concrete, and provided data to the respective Quality Officers to make informed decisions regarding material strength and adherence to specifications. For soil we provided stockpile monitoring, quality analysis, and verification that materials were within specifications and also provided nuclear-densometer compaction testing and earthworks monitoring to verify lift placement and structural integrity of placed lifts.
