The Kitimat Modernization Project is a multi-billion dollar project to modernize the 60 year-old Rio Tinto Alcan’s aluminum smelter facility located in Kitimat BC. This modernization project, using state-of-the-art AP Technology will increase the smelter’s current production capacity by 48 per cent to approximately 420,000 tonnes per year, and provide world class health, safety and environmental improvements.
Allnorth was contracted by DL Baker Construction Canada to provide concrete and grout quality control testing to on 116,000 m3 on various sub-projects throughout the site, plus aggregate and concrete quality control testing on 14,000 m3. Allnorth held a category 0 CCIL (Canadian Council of Independent Laboratory) certification for concrete testing and performed concrete testing as per CSA standards.
Allnorth also provided grout testing quality control and survey services for HBBC Canada, plus survey services for various sub-projects for FWS Western Ltd. throughout the site.
