Cariboo Pulp and Paper is a West Fraser and Daishowa-Marubeni International (DMI) joint venture located in Quesnel, BC.

Allnorth was contracted by the Cariboo Pulp and Paper Company to provide conceptual design, process design, capital cost estimating and detail design for a ~29 MW condensing steam turbine and generator installation at their Quesnel pulp mill. 

The scope of work included mass and energy balance work to select turbine size; process design of interconnections to the existing mill; specifications and recommendations for purchase of the turbine, generator and all associated mechanical equipment including the cooling tower; site layout, design of the turbine building and foundations, cooling tower foundations; and design of process piping.  Also included in the project was the process and mechanical/piping design for a number of modifications to the existing mill to maximize the steam available to the turbine.
