Catalyst Paper Corporation hired Allnorth to upgrade the number 2 surface condenser at their Crofton facility. The objective was to increase the efficiency and capacity of the mill. Allnorth’s scope of work encompassed both feasibility and detailed engineering services. This involved 3D scanning, piping, mechanical, civil and structural engineering. Using the 3D model, Allnorth was able to route new piping, place structural steel and foundations and equipment without interferences. Field connections were also minimized and this effectively maximized installation efficiency by enabling the team to install the equipment during a short shutdown.
