Allnorth was commissioned by the Town of Centreville-Wareham-Trinity to upgrade two aging lift stations. The scope of work included new control panels complete with SCADA-ready controls, new internal piping and pumps, and upgrades to the exterior of the chamber.
Some roles and responsibilities Allnorth oversaw as prime consultant were project management, assessment of existing lift stations, and preparation of tender documents.
One of the lift stations had an aluminum cross hatch metal cover which did not meet standards. A new cast-in-place cover was designed to retrofit the existing chamber.
Another challenge on this project was one of the lift stations was not adequately pumping sewage. This was confirmed via discussions with Public Works personnel and comparing flow measurements to pumping capabilities. A larger pump was sized for the lift station, so Allnorth’s scope expanded to include contract administration and resident oversight during construction.
