Allnorth worked directly with the Bigstone Cree Nation to plan and execute the replacement of a dilapidated bridge structure located in Wabasca, AB. This work included providing a replacement design that maintained the existing road elevation, working closely alongside utilities and maintaining an existing historic timber bridge adjacent to the crossing.
The replacement of the bridge included the removal of an existing precast concrete girder bridge on timber piles and installation of a longer pre-stressed concrete girder bridge on steel foundations.
The scope of Allnorth’s responsibilities included involvement in every stage of the project including preliminary design, cost estimates, detailed design, preparation and administration of the tender, preparation of the contract documents and all onsite construction management and engineering services for the client. The bridge structure design and construction was based on Alberta Transportation standards.
