Allnorth provided multi-discipline engineering and design services for the balance of a plant design for the installation of a 25 MW condensing turbine at the Harmac Pacific Plant in Nanaimo. Using CADSim software, Allnorth created a high-fidelity model for the mill’s thermal, power and water systems. The model, along with the application of process integration techniques, enabled the reduction of steam and water consumption throughout the mill.
The model was leveraged to assist in project identification, development and detailed design. Allnorth designed the installation of heat exchangers, screen, pumps, piping and support towers to deliver fresh cold water to the condenser and introduce warm water throughout the mill.
