?Allnorth was contracted by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure (SMHI) to provide site inspection services and construction administration for the rehabilitation work on a Highway 1 bridge (bridge CS 1-22 km 15.92). This bridge is a 3 span 12 m-15 m-12 m by 12 m wide reinforced concrete deck with steel girders located 15.92 km west of Maple Creek, Saskatchewan.

Allnorth’s scope of work included construction supervision during the repair of abutment and pier concrete and replacing the concrete deck, galvanic corrosion protection, existing barriers, guardrails, curbs, and asphalt concrete pavement (ACP) which included a new waterproofing system and expansion joints. Allnorth also completed daily inspections of the traffic accommodation for the high volume traffic on Highway 1, which included 350 oversized loads through the traffic detour for the construction of a wind farm.

There were some challenges during the project due to CP Railway delays and the COVID-19 pandemic. Allnorth also dealt with unforeseen design changes and additional repair work during construction. However, Allnorth worked with the Contractor and SMHI to minimize schedule delays and successfully completed the project. Construction was completed in the fall of 2020.
