In 2004 Allnorth was contracted to provide project management, civil and structural design, construction engineering, construction management, and structure certification for the Berland River Aerial Pipeline Crossing.
The 92m long clearspan overland pipeline truss over the Berland River was erected with the use of two large cranes. A clearspan option was chosen to eliminate instream pier work and, therefore, expedite regulatory approval timelines.
Access was available to each abutment through the use of an existing vehicle bridge paralleling the truss alignment. The superstructure was located using a large truck and erected using a 100 ton crane and a 160 ton crane. The structural design and construction engineering were completed in house and the project was completed on schedule and on budget.
