
Principal Mineral Processing Engineer Olav Mejia has joined the Allnorth team

Allnorth is pleased to announce Olav Mejia has joined our mining team as a Principal Mineral Process Engineer. Olav has a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Peru and is currently completing his MSc. in Mineral Processing at the University of British Columbia. In addition, he has has 24 years of international processing experience, in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Project Management and EPCM projects. Olav has built 10 years’ of experience in NI 43-101 Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility studies, EPCM projects, plant audits and due diligence studies throughout Canada, Peru, the US and Brazil, and has previously held positions at Hatch as Director of Mining and Mineral Processing, Process Engineering Lead at Ausenco, and Senior Process Metallurgist for Newmont Corporation. He has extensive international exposure in the mining sector and is fluent in English and Spanish in addition to speaking basic German.
Proficient at crushing and grinding plant energy audits, grinding circuit cost reductions, and a wide variety of mineral process engineering improvements, Olav has been awarded several prizes and recognitions for his cost reduction and process improvements around the world. He is the recipient of the 2013 CEEC (Coalition for energy Efficient Comminution) Medal award in Canada, which recognizes the contribution of outstanding research and fieldwork on beneficial strategies for eco-efficient comminution.
Olav’s mineral processing innovation strategies and cost reduction improvements ensure value-added delivery of the highest standard on all of his projects, developing into value propositions and an optimal return on his clients’ mining projects.
