Northwood Pulp Mill A and B Evaporator Upgrade
Allnorth was hired to provide preliminary and detail design plus project and construction management services at an existing kraft pulp mill in Prince George, BC. The scope of work encompassed the construction of a pre-concentrator and surface condenser with the associated evaporator plant modifications.
The project was unique in that the client sourced much of the equipment from a decommissioned pulp mill. 3D scanning and 3D design services were employed extensively throughout the design process, including modelling the heavy lift of the surface condenser through part of the existing plant.
The rapid and accurate measurement from the 3D scanning was extremely valuable to the project, providing the ability to install the new equipment in the existing congested mill buildings with ease. The project was completed on schedule and within budget.
