Municipal Amalgamation Process, Rezoning, and Public Education, Canoe Creek Golf Course Inc.
Members of the Allnorth Planning Services team were contracted to lead the municipal amalgamation process, complete associated rezoning and re-designation of the property, and coordinate a public education process for a proposed golf course development. The project centred around an 18-hole, semi-public, full-length golf course. The vision for the first phase of development included a condominium-lodge-style hotel, clubhouse facilities, restaurant, convention facilities, media centre and convenience outlet. The Concept Plan evolved from the idea that the existing golf course with the resort condo lodge/clubhouse would be the focal point of the Canoe Creek Community.
Responsibilities for this project included:
- Municipal boundary extension
- Re-designation and rezoning of property
- Expanding municipal water and sewer and road network
- Creating innovative resort design
- Providing amenities and expanded living options for Salmon Arm residents
About this infrastructure project
The Canoe Creek Golf Course is located in Salmon Arm, British Columbia. The proposed Resort would include the existing 18-hole golf course and clubhouse, along with a mix of residences ranging from hotel style resort condos, apartment condos, townhouses, duplexes to single-family homes.
