Berth Expansion, Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal, BC Ferries

Allnorth provided detail engineering design, project management, environmental monitoring, and quality assurance for this project. Two berths had to be expanded and upgraded to accommodate Super C-class vessels. Parallel motion fender technology was introduced for energy absorption and to efficiently berth the large vessels. Allnorth completed detail engineering for 4 dolphins with parallel motion arms and super cone pairs, stiff backing structures, jackets, platforms, mooring systems and catwalks. Wingwall expansion and reinforcement, a concrete flow deflector wall with socketed piles, and pile scour and corrosion protection systems were included. A detailed ship-fit and clearance analysis was conducted. Fabrication, delivery and construction schedules were tracked and updated regularly. Environmental impact studies and monitoring were conducted.
