Allnorth’s Prince George office was proud to participate in the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation’s Spirit Day on May 3, 2018. The team raised money through various in-office activities leading up to this 2nd Annual Spirit Day Fundraiser.
Allnorth also sponsored a Power Hour for the event, and provided a team of volunteers to accept donations over the phone from across the region.
Allnorth’s contribution, through sponsorship and fundraising, totaled $3,585, and an additional $3,444 was raised during our sponsored “Allnorth Power Hour”, for an amazing grand total of $7,029.
The goal of the 2nd Annual Spirit Day was to raise $60.000 and the event surpassed this goal with a final total of $62,092.00
Spirit Day is a rebranded version of the Spirit of the North Radiothon, which previously ran for 11 years, helping to raise money to purchase diagnostic equipment for the Northern BC region, including for the Northern Health Regional Cardiac Strategy.
To support the 5-year Northern Health Care Regional Cardiac Strategy, Spirit of the North has committed to raising $500,000.00 over 1 year from July 2017 – July 2018 to facilitate the purchase of a suite of ultrasounds with ECHO capabilities. Current wait times for ECHO testing at UHNBC are up to 6 months, and the waiting list holds over 1,100 names.
This suite of ultrasounds consists of:
- 1 state-of-the-art ECHO Ultrasound with 4D monitoring
- 1 ECHO Ultrasound comparable to an existing unit at UHNBC
- 2 portable Ultrasounds that may be utilized for diagnostics in any area of the hospital
