Wapiti Truss Project

Duke Energy contracted Allnorth to provide engineering and construction management services during the construction of the 60m long clearspan pipeline truss over the Wapiti River. Conventional access to the East abutment was impossible given a 25-m bank on the West abutment therefore a 10-m wide, 36-m long access bridge was constructed from the top of the West Bank using a 300 Ton crane. An 80-ton crane was then disassembled, lowered to the access bridge. Reassembled on the access bridge, and used to construct the East abutment. The superstructure was then erected on the access bridge and lifted into position using the 80 Ton and 300 Ton cranes.
