Electrostatic Precipitators - Demineralizer Plant

Catalyst Paper Port Alberni Division retained the services of Allnorth Consultants Ltd. to design and install a new demineralizer plant to replace the 50-year-old plant. New piles and foundations were installed to support the new building and electrical centre. New multimedia filters, booster pumps and chemical skids were purchased. The existing Organic Traps and Mixed Bed Demineralizers were relocated and upgraded for their new service. During the relocation and upgrade of the existing equipment, the steam plant operated on treated water produced by portable demineralizer trailers.
