Allnorth was contracted to provide conceptual design, process design, capital cost estimating and detail design for a 29MW condensing steam turbine and generator installation to Cariboo Pulp & Paper Company’s Quesnel Pulp Mill. The scope of project work carried out by Allnorth included mass and energy balance work to select turbine size; process design of interconnections to existing mill; specification and recommendation for purchase of turbine, generator and all associated mechanical equipment including cooling tower; site layout, design of turbine building and foundation, cooling tower foundation; design of process piping.
Allnorth coordinated with an electrical and instrumentation subconsultant for all electrical and instrumentation functions. Included with the project were the process and mechanical/piping design of a number of modifications to the existing mill to maximize the steam available to the turbine.
