Blowline Replacement (Neucel)

Neucel required the replacement of the blowlines from their batch digesters that were failing due to stress corrosion cracking. There were no design or as-built drawings for these lines, and access to the blowlines for field measuring was limited. The client requested we scan the blowlines and create drawings for the sections that required replacement. The piping, structural steel and equipment in the area of the blowline was scanned. Using the 3D scan data we modeled, the existing blowline including defining all locations and angles of branch connections, confirming the radii and roll of the long radius bends and the routing through the congested areas. Upon completion of the design drawings we worked with the client and the piping spool fabricator to optimize the shop versus field work to allow the instllation to be completed most cost-effectively.
