Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of structural engineering
designs and related documents and coordinating work effort with other disciplines
as well as clients. The candidate will be able to complete projects independently
(with little direction) and supervise/coordinate the activity of other engineers
on their projects. He/she is expected to lead and work with project teams and individual
engineers to ensure projects are completed within allotted schedules and budgets.
In addition, leading small civil/structural teams on specific projects and mentoring
graduate engineers as required.
This role provides the opportunity to become the lead engineer for Allnorth's Marine
Group.
Education Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering with structural concentration;
- Masters degree would be an asset.
Experience Required:
- Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) and proven ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplined environment;
- Working with the applicable Building Codes and industry practice guidelines on heavy industrial and marine structures;
- Design and/or construction of marine structures including docks, berths, ship loaders, fendering, piling, anchoring, etc.
- Technical competence and strong attention to detail;
- 10 or more years of relevant experience in heavy structural design, preferably in a consulting environment;
- Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in the province of British Columbia.
