Job Summary
The position is responsible for coordinating the regulatory permitting process for small to large resource projects and securing required governmental approvals for projects. The duties include assembly and submission of regulatory approvals, develop and implement stakeholder consultation programs, summarizing results of investigations and integration with regulatory policies and management of follow-up measures, maintaining effective communication and liaison with regulatory agencies and stakeholders to collect information in order to identify and address issues, coordinating input from multi-disciplinary teams and consultants, conducting field and desktop studies in support of regulatory issues/requirements, liaison with existing and prospective clients, and writing effective reports and proposals.

Education/Experience
The ideal candidate would have a university degree in a relevant field of study as well as a minimum of five years experience in preparing regulatory applications for approvals, land use permitting, public consultation, project management and sound working knowledge of provincial, territorial and federal environmental legislation.

A combination of a diploma certificate and several years of relevant regulatory agency experience focused on environmental assessment will be considered. A strong working knowledge of the BC Environmental Assessment Act, the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act and other regulatory approvals required for energy and infrastructure projects would be an asset. Consulting experience would be an asset.
